LAB Pro Inspections was started in
2001 by Lon Barnaby, a Registered
Professional Engineer in Florida, Colorado,
Maryland and Pennsylvania, with the
mission of providing the best home inspection
services. This goal continues
to be pursued with a continuous improvement
process that incorporates feedback from
those who choose Lon to do their inspections,
including Clients, Real Estate Professionals,
Mortgage Agents, Insurance Agents, and
Municipalities.
Lon has completed over
3,500 inspections throughout these years,
including new construction and homes
built as old as when our country won
its independence. Prior to starting
LAB Pro, Lon's skills were developed
during various residential, commercial
and industrial construction activities,
including managing the engineering,
design and construction of large, worldwide
cryogenic manufacturing facilities throughout
the USA, Europe, and Japan.

This cryogenic company has provided
NASA with all of their liquid oxygen and liquid
hydrogen fuel for the Space Shuttle. Lon later
headed the 300+ person Corporate Engineering &
Design Department for this Fortune 500 Company.
Lon knows how hard work is needed
to succeed. He was awarded a BS degree in
Engineering, Magna Cum Lauda, from Widener University
in Pennsylvania by attending evening classes while
working full time to support his wife and two children.
He then obtained a Masters Degree in Business
Administration from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania,
also by attending evening classes.
Since July 2010, Florida requires
home inspectors to be licensed. Lon Barnaby
is a Florida-licensed home inspector license # HI-180.
Lon
is also certified by InterNACHI, arguably the largest
home inspector organization in North America, perhaps
the world, with over 10,000 members throughout all
50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto
Rico, and Canada. InterNACHI-Certified home
inspectors have all successfully passed InterNACHI's
Inspector Examination, taken a Standards of Practice
Quiz, completed a Code of Ethics course, adhere
to high Standards of Practice, abide by a code of
Ethics, and attend required continuing education
courses. Lon has completed over
170 hours of home inspector-related training. Lon
was also a Pennsylvania Certified Pest Control Operator,
on an equal basis with all other Pesticide Companies,
such as Terminex and Ehrlich. He is very familiar
with wood destroying pests such as Termites, Carpenter
Ants, Powder Post Beetles, etc. He has been certified
by Florida to conduct Radon Testing. His Florida
Professional Engineer License also enables Lon to
inspect and certify engineered systems, such as
Septic Systems, Water Well Pumping systems,
Wind Mitigation, etc.
.
Lon successfully completed the same training
as Florida's licensed mobile home tie-down contractors,
so he is fully qualified to inspect these tie-down
systems.
Florida also allows Lon to conduct Municipal
Building Inspections.
